Within the past three months Shreveport Police detectives have been investigating complaints from citizens who have been victims of residential burglaries using the following distraction methods. Subjects, reported as white to Hispanic males have been approaching potential victims at their residences posing as water or sewage inspectors to inspect pipes in the victims house or backyard. While one of the suspects keeps the attention of the victim, explaining the nature of visit, the other suspect enters the home to commit a theft. In other reported incidences, the suspects approach the victim under the pretense of buying something the victim has advertised for sale in the front yard. While one suspect offers a deposit with a large bill expecting change, the home is burglarized by the second suspect. On some occasions, the suspects have been caught inside the house and when confronted by the owner, the suspect says they were using the bathroom. Suspect were seen in a 1996 Nissan, blue/green, Extended Cab, TX 57DHC2 Anyone having information on any suspicious activity in their neighborhood are encouraged to call Shreveport Police at 673-2583 (BLUE).
