Shreveport Police to hold 5K Run and Healthwalk

The Shreveport Police Department is sponsoring a 5K run and healthwalk on April 1, 2006. This will be the 11^th year the department has sponsored the run, named the Dean-Williams Run.

Ron Dean and Dewayne Williams were fallen officers with the department, and during their careers were avid supporters of the Louisiana Special Olympics. This run is held every year, not only in their memory, but in memory of all fallen law enforcement officers. The run is cooperative effort of the police department, Local Union 75, and SportSpectrum.

Race applications may be picked up at SportSpectrum on Youree Drive. Application fee is $17.00 until April 1^st. On race day the application fee will be $20.00. All funds raised are donated to the Special Olympics of Louisiana.
