Police investigate major accident on I-49
Shreveport police are investigating a major accident on I-49 this morning that critically injured one person. The incident occurred about 7:20 a.m. at I-49 and Pierremont.
The 40-year-old Shreveport man was the passenger in a vehicle that was headed north on I-49. A number of vehicles suddenly began to stop when the driver of the green Toyota 4-Runner started to spin out of control.
The vehicle struck several other vehicles, including a 1998 silver Ford Ranger being driven by Bruce Stoner, 44. Stoner's passenger was ejected from the Ranger and suffered severe head trauma. He was transported to LSU Hospital and is currently undergoing surgery at this time. An investigation is underway and no citations have been issued at this time.
