Police arrest man in shooting

A man has been arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder for a shooting that occurred about 8:40 p.m. last night in the 2400 block of MLK.

Calvin Thomas, 31, of Shreveport was arrested at his home in the 1700 block of Legardy -- not far from the Fina station where the shooting victim, 57-year-old Cary Douglas of Shreveport was found.

Douglas was found by officers lying in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to LSU Hospital where he is currently in fair condition.

Douglas sustained three gunshot wounds – one to the right thumb, one to the foot and 1 in the upper chest.

An investigation into why and how the shooting occurred is underway.
