Boy shoot uncle on Burlingame

Shreveport Police have arrested a 15-year-old in connection with a shooting that took place in the 7200 block of Burlingame Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

The black male youth turned himself into police last night and was charged with illegal use of a weapon and juvenile in possession of a firearm.

He was released to his parents.

According to witnesses, the boy got a gun to protect his 14-year-old sister, who was being beaten up by several other females. He fired a shot, which hit his uncle, Emmett Sloane, Jr., 27, of Shreveport. Sloane is currently in serious condition at LSU Hospital.
