Man arrested for meth possession

Narcotics agents have arrested a man and seized 85.5 grams of methamphetamine.

Steven Gregory Thompson, 39 (DOB 11-4-66), of the 6000 block of Wisteria in Hoston, was taken into custody and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. He also was charged with possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Agents also seized $8,550 worth of the drug after searching his Hoston home. They also seized a handgun and a Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Thompson is believed to have delivered meth throughout the area, including Shreveport where he was caught.

He will be booked into Caddo Correctional Center this afternoon. Participating agencies included Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Shreveport Police Department, Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office and the DEA Drug Task Force.
