Police investigate shooting

Shreveport police are looking into a shooting that injured two people just after 4 p.m. today.

A man walked into a barber shop at 1672 Ford Street, saw 19-year-old Michael Gilyard of Shreveport getting his hair cut and opened fire.

The gunfire struck Gilyard six times in the back, chest and thigh. It also struck barber Paul Bolden, 32, of Shreveport, who was shot in the chest and neck.

Both were taken to LSU Hospital by private automobile.

Police are working to identify a suspect. If anyone has information about this case, call detectives at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
