Police included in career fair

Young people who want to be police officers when they grow up will get a chance to meet some at Lakeshore Elementary School’s first-ever career day on Nov. 12.

The career fair runs from 9 to 11 a.m. in the school gym, located at 1807 San Jacinto Avenue.

About 50 people in the fifth grade will get a chance to talk to police officers, as well as other career professionals including doctors, lawyers, firefighters, teachers, writers and chaplains.

It is hoped that the students will meet mentors who can show the children they can achieve whatever they want to in life if they work hard enough.
