Police investigate homicide

Shreveport police are investigating a homicide in the 900 block of Kenneth that occurred around 2 a.m. today.

Donald Sims, 47, was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead a the scene.

A newspaper carrier noticed the man in the street and called police.

An investigation is underway to find the shooter and determine why Sims was killed.
