When police searched a car belonging to 34-year-old Broderick Taylor of Shreveport earlier this month, they found 256 counterfeit DVD and CDs that contained some material that is just now playing in movie theaters.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Taylor on a charge of illegal use of counterfeit trademarks. Bond has been set at $25,000.
The search of his car took place following a homicide that occurred in the 1900 block of Patzman on Oct. 4. At that time, they found the DVDs and CDs that included movies currently showing at theaters, such as A Shark’s Tale, Anacondas, Mr. 3000 and Ladder 49.
Police went to search Taylor’s house on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, Taylor and the computer equipment he allegedly used to make the bootleg copies of movies and music were gone.
He is believed to be traveling with his girlfriend, 26-year-old Tasha Daniels, in a gold 1998 Chrysler Concorde LXi with La. Tags MQZ 229.
It is possible he is armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call Violent Crimes Detective Patrick McConnell at 673-6968 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
