Cooperative Efforts Capture Shooter

Once again, the collaborative efforts of an intense investigation, evidence collection and witness participation, has resulted in putting a criminal behind bars.

Early this morning at approximately 3:45 AM, shots rang out in the 4800 block of Kennedy Drive and a residence was riddled with bullets, the result of a drive-by shooting.

Immediately following the incident, Shreveport Police Detectives and Patrol officers interviewed witnesses in the neighborhood and quickly obtained a full description of the suspect vehicle. Patrol officers diligently searched the immediate area and located the vehicle matching the description parked in the driveway of 4602 Bethune. Initial investigation revealed the vehicle had recently been driven.

During the initial inspection of the outside of the vehicle, Shreveport Police officers noticed a 30-30 rifle, and a .380 cal. handgun inside. With a simple knock on the door, Patrol officers and detectives arrested Cody Lacour, b/m, 8-12-04 without incident. SPD CSI Unit was immediately called to the scene to process the vehicle and weapons. All evidence was impounded.

Lacour was interviewed and confessed stating the shooting was in retaliation from an earlier incident with his half brother.

Lacour was booked into CCC for Assault by Drive-By Shooting.
