Man arrest for attempted second-degree murder

Shreveport police arrested a man today on a charge of attempted second-degree murder for a shooting that occurred Saturday.

John Ira Grant, 33, of the 7700 block of Babylonin Circle in Shreveport was arrested at a house in the 1800 block of Midway.

He was wanted for a shooting that took place on Saturday at 6810 Bethany.

Grant is accused of shooting Cortez Maxey, age and address unknown. Maxey was taken to LSU with a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower left hip.
