Skeleton identified as missing woman

A skeleton found near the downtown airport has been identified as that of Louise Johnson, a woman missing for more than two years.

Johnson disappeared April 24, 2000 and was last seen at a temporary SporTran bus terminal near Municipal Auditorium.

Johnson’s remains were discovered Dec. 27 by a man walking near a creek in a woody area in the 1500 block of Airport Drive.

It is still unknown how the woman died.

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office will send the woman’s skeleton to a bone specialist who will try to determine the cause of death.

Johnson had Alzheimer’s disease and was a diabetic.
