Once missing woman charged with arson

An Army private believed to be missing after her car was found on fire last week has been charged with simple arson.

Army Private First Class Aquanita Lynette Turner, 20, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of simple arson.

Turner was believed to have been missing after officers found her Chevy Cavalier on fire Dec. 30. The keys were still in the ignition.

Turner showed up at her mother’s house the next day after her car was found. After questioning, investigators learned that she had someone set fire to the car to keep from having to make car payments.

Turner was supposed to have reported to her base at Fort Hood, Texas, on New Years Day. Officials with her unit there have been notified of her arrest.
