Police arrest robbery suspect
A 16-year-old juvenile was apprehended this morning after he attempted to rob Lewis Furniture.
The black male suspect entered the furniture store at 864 Texas Ave. about 9 a.m. today and asked about furniture. He then grabbed the store owner and started choking him. When the owner fought back, the suspect sprayed the owner with mace. At that point, another employee entered the store and pulled the suspect off the owner.
The suspect ran away from the scene but was apprehended by patrol officers a short time later.
At the time of the incident, the juvenile had been on probation/house arrest for armed robbery. He was booked into the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
