Joint operation nets four arrests, several stolen vehicles

The Shreveport Police Department, Louisiana State Police, Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted a joint auto theft operation today, seizing several stolen vehicles and arresting four people.

Search warrants were executed at several locations in Shreveport and Bossier Parish.

Arrested were:

    • James Thomas, 49, of the 2500 block of Murray, Shreveport. He is charged with illegal possession of stolen things (IPST) and a felony warrant from Red River Sheriff’s Office.

    • Patrick Simms Thomas, 33, of the 600 block of Browning, Shreveport. He was arrested on two outstanding warrant from Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office.

    • Angela Mickle Thomas, 31, of the 700 block of Browning. She is charged with IPST.

    • Alvin Clyde Williams, 53, of the 100 block of Wagon Wheel Drive, Haughton. He is charged with IPST and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Three stolen vehicles were seized in Shreveport, as well as a trailer and a 4-wheeler. Three vehicles and a motor home were seized in Bossier.

The operation was the culmination of a two-month investigation. It is believed the suspects brought stolen vehicles to the area from out of state, where they then changed the vehicle identification numbers and switched the license plates.

"We are pleased to get this car theft ring off the streets. It should have a significant impact," Chief of Police Jim Roberts said.

"The success of this operation is another example of what can be done when law enforcement agencies work together," Bossier Parish Sheriff Larry Deen said. "The Shreveport Police Department, the State Police and the Bossier Sheriff’s Office cooperated on a case that was very complicated."

The investigation continues, as detectives look for more stolen vehicles connected to this theft ring.
