Shreveport Police bust bank bandit
Police detectives have arrested a Shreveport man for robbing a neighborhood bank yesterday.
Detectives Shawn Parker and Lane Smith arrested 31 year old Terry Bryant, of the 1000 block of Olive St., shortly before noon today, and charged him with first degree robbery of the Bank One branch office located in the 1700 block of Line Ave.
Police were dispatched to the bank, which is in the Highland neighborhood, yesterday at 9:55 a.m. in reference to a robbery. Witnesses reported that a lone black male suspect entered the bank and approached a teller, giving her a note implying he had a weapon and demanding money. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and he subsequently fled the business on foot.
Detectives Parker and Smith quickly developed a suspect and, less than 24 hours after the crime, they were able to not only apprehend Bryant, but also recover monies believed to have been taken in the robbery.
