Shreveport Police detectives have arrested four suspects in a series of cab robberies that have occurred over the past several days.
At 1:50 a. m. on October 15th, patrol officers responded to the 6700 block of Central St. where a cab driver reported he had been robbed at gun point. The driver advised officers he had been flagged down by two black male suspects and as they got into his cab, they produced guns and stole his wallet.
Just a few hours later, at 6:25 a. m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of E. 80th St. where another cab driver reported that he had also been robbed at gunpoint by two black males. The suspect descriptions were very similar and led officers to believe that the same individuals were responsible for both robberies.
Within hours of the last robbery, patrol Sgt. Michael Price located a vehicle that the suspects had used in the robberies, and with assistance from patrol officers, detectives were able to quickly apprehend all four suspects.
Detective Donna Lott has arrested Antonio Demming, 24, of the 600 block of W. 72nd St. and Lorenzo Taylor, 23, of the 3100 block of Desoto. Both suspects have been charged with two counts of armed robbery each. In addition to these charges, Antonio Demming has a warrant for armed robbery outstanding for his arrest in Desoto Parish.
Also arrested in connection with these robberies were Chestina Walker, 27, of the 4300 block of Long St., and Friday Demming, 19, of the 600 block of W. 72nd, both of whom were charged as being a principle to armed robbery.
