Police look for robbery suspect
Shreveport police are searching for a black male and a powder blue four-door sedan used during a simple robbery at Leonard’s Jewelry today.
At 12:45 p.m., the black male described to be in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall with a slender build and short cropped hair entered the jewelry store, located in the 4100 block of Line Avenue.
Once inside the store, a clerk showed him some ladies’ diamond rings. After having possession of about three rings, the suspect fled the store and got into a blue sedan.
While leaving the scene, two clerks attempted to stop the suspect. The suspect then pointed a gun at one of them. The other clerk, who was attempting to open the suspect’s car door, cut her hand on the car when the suspect fled away. The suspect then caused minor damage to another car, which was attempting to stop him. The suspect vehicle fled north on Line Avenue.
The injured clerk was transported to Willis-Knighton Pierremont for the injury to her hand.
The suspect vehicle is possibly a Cadillac Sedan Deville. It has damage on the front left side. If anyone has information on the suspect or the vehicle, call the detective’s office at 673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 673-7000.
