Police assist in neighborhood cleanup

Shreveport Police Department’s Neighborhood Assistance Team is teaming up with YWCA, Shreveport Green and Shreveport Community Renewal to clean up Allendale.

At 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, a cleanup will be held around North Allen and Clay streets.

The focus will be on a four-block area that has numerous vacant houses and tons of debris.

The cleanup will make the area nicer for two Friendship Houses that are planned by Shreveport Community Renewal.

Anyone interested in helping with the cleanup effort is invited to show up at the corner of Clay and North Allen. For more information on the cleanup, call Sgt. Wendell Delaney at 673-6950.
