Man involved in hostage situation identified

The man who reportedly killed himself during a standoff with police Monday morning has been tentatively identified.

Frank Albert Brown, 35, of Shreveport is believed to be the man who died in the incident. Positive identification with fingerprints has not yet been completed.

Brown allegedly took his own life after releasing two people he held hostage during a botched robbery attempt. The victim of that robbery, Stacey Carter, was shot in the hip.

It is believed the two people taken hostage were actually involved in the robbery attempt. William Campbell, 19, of the 800 block of Windsor is now charged with attempted first-degree murder (for shooting Carter) and Tangela Williams, 32, of the 3500 block of Oak Park is charged with criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
