Attempted murder suspect arrested in Oklahoma

Shanmarcus Butler, a 19-year-old Shreveport man who was wanted for a carjacking and shooting in March, was arrested by the Tulsa Police Department over the weekend.

Butler is charged with attempted first-degree murder and carjacking for an incident that ended behind the Avaya Communications Plant in the 2900 block of Baird Road on March 11.

Emanuel Allen, 19 at the time of the incident, was carjacked and forced to drive to the Baird Road location where he was shot in the head. He survived, but his assailant took off in his blue Chevy Nova. The Nova was found in Caddo Parish shortly after the shooting.

The Shreveport Police Department worked with the Tulsa Police Department to provide information that led to Butler’s arrest.
