Pandering operation leads to drug arrest

A pandering operation that resulted in the arrests of two property managers at Lakeshore Inn has netted a drug arrest as well.

Ronny Clay, 50, is charged with three counts of Distribution of Schedule II (cocaine). He was arrested by Shreveport Police Department’s Street Level Interdiction Unit.

Police reports say Clay allegedly sold illegal drugs at the hotel three times in the last three weeks. More drug arrests are pending as SLIU continues its investigation.

Also this week, SPD’s Vice Unit arrested Dharmeshkumar Patel, 27, and Chhaganbhaig Patel, 68. (Names are pronounced Dar-mesh-ka-mar and Chog-han-bog Pa-tell).

The Patels lived at the hotel and were charged with pandering after the operation revealed they were renting rooms for prostitution.

This pandering operation is the latest effort by the department to crack down on prostitution and other illegal activity related to it.
