One of two fatality victims identified

One of two men killed last night after their car hit a tree and caught fire on Old Blanchard Road has been identified.

Patrick Walker of Shreveport, age unknown, was driving his 1989 Pontiac Trans Am when he lost control of the vehicle, skidded several yards and hit a tree. The car then caught on fire.

Walker was taken to LSU Hospital, but paramedics could not save him.

Meanwhile, the passenger in the car died at the scene. Investigators are trying to identify him and notify family members of his death. After they do that, his name will be released.

It is believed that alcohol played a factor in the accident.
