Police baseball camp underway

The Shreveport Police Department wanted to give children things to do this summer. The department continues to meet that goal with the first-ever Shreveport Police Department Baseball Camp.

The camp started Wednesday and goes through Friday, with each day’s camp taking place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Southern Hills Recreation Center, 1002 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Boys and girls ages 6 to 11 are taking part.

Other programs offered by the SPD this summer included a fishing tournament, boy’s summer camp and a basketball camp. All were a great success.

Keeping children occupied is a key to keeping them out of trouble when school is out of session. And this baseball camp will keep them busy right up until school starts Monday.
