Police kick off crime sweep in Eden Gardens

Area 2 Weed and Seed and the Shreveport Police Department is getting to the root of community problems in the Eden Gardens neighborhood this week.

Beginning today, the SPD will begin a three-day operation in which Area 2 Weed and Seed will work to crack down on code enforcement violators, find wanted criminals, get dangerous animals off the streets and intensively patrol the neighborhood to prevent crime.

The effort is a collaborative one, with Area 2 Weed and Seed teaming up with other police officers, as well as Code Enforcement, Louisiana State Probation and Patrol and Caddo Parish Animal Control.

Together they are working to make Eden Gardens a safer, cleaner community.

The operation runs through Saturday and runs from 10 a.m. to midnight each day.
