Police arrest man for Cajun Daiquiris incident

A man who told police he was robbed of his Cajun Daiquiris bank deposit has been charged with felony theft.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning when Tony Martinez, 32, of Shreveport told police that two men took the store’s deposit from him at gunpoint at East 61st Street and Fairfield Avenue.

Martinez, an employee with the business, is now charged with felony theft for taking the money. He reportedly made up the robbery story.

Money bags and some of the cash have been recovered and returned to the store owner.
