Kids Behind Bars telecast opened to public

Know a child who could get into trouble with the law? Have a kid who is going through the juvenile justice system? Have a group that wants to keep kids on the right track?

Anyone in situations like these needs to see "Kids Behind Bars," a broadcast of the Law Enforcement Television Network. The program addresses what happens to children convicted of felonies, how they are incarcerated and how they can be helped.

The program will be aired live and free of charge from 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Area Two Weed and Seed, located in the Highland Center, 520 Olive St.

Other programs will be broadcast live at the center on the following dates. They are:

    • Law Enforcement and the Media: Noon to 2 p.m. July 11. It addresses what the media expects from the law enforcement community and how the two groups can work in unison to accomplish their separate goals.

    • Stoned Cold: 1 to 2 p.m. July 24. It dramatically addresses the consequences of teenage drunk driving and looks at the problem from that of a first responder, as well as from the legal perspectives.
