Identity of man still unknown

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office will have to determine the identity of the man who died in a fiery crash on Interstate 20 Sunday.

The coroner’s office will first have to get positive identification of the man and then make the proper family notifications before the man’s name can be released.

The man, who is believed to be elderly and from Louisiana, died yesterday afternoon when his older model Lincoln Continental was hit from behind by an 18-wheeler.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, 26-year-old Steven Brando, could not avoid hitting the Continental, which pulled away from the shoulder into the path of the 18-wheeler. Brando received minor injuries in the accident.
