Second annual police fishing tournament Saturday

Kids ages 6 to 16 will be working to reel in the big one at Cross Lake on Saturday, while learning a little something about fishing and boating safety.

The Shreveport Police Department’s second annual fishing tournament for kids is from 8 a.m. to noon at the Municipal Pier, located on Municipal Pier Road across from Ford Park.

About 200 kids are expected to compete for prizes in each age category and enjoy refreshments – all free of charge.

The program is another in a long list of programs for children sponsored by the Shreveport Police Department’s Community Services Unit.
