Juvenile steals $6,100 during summer job

A 16-year-old Shreveport girl faces charges of felony theft for allegedly taking $6,100 from a cash drawer at the credit union she was working for this summer.

The girl was in her second week of work at Shreveport Federal Credit Union when, on June 22, she reportedly began taking money from a cash drawer.

The girl returned $2,545, which she removed from her purse, when questioned about the theft.

The juvenile was booked in the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detection Center. Detectives are still working to recover the remaining money.
