Pepper spray suspect found

A 71-year-old South Caddo Parish man has been linked to an incident where pepper spray was released into the air at Albertson’s on Mansfield Road.

The man is suspected of having Alzheimer’s and will undergo a medical evaluation. He does not recall being in Albertson’s or know why he would have sprayed the pepper spray. He will not face criminal charges.

Police tracked down the man through his license plate number. Witnesses at the store said the man entered the store, sprayed an irritant spray and then left in a car.

It is believed that the man also sprayed the pepper spray in a separate incident at the nearby Kroger store.
