Twenty recruits to graduate from police academy

Months of law enforcement training for 20 recruits will culminate Friday at a graduation ceremony of the 47th Basic Training Session.

Graduation will take place at 9 a.m. at the Fire & Police Auditorium, located at the Shreveport Regional Police Academy, 6440 Greenwood Road.

Police Chief Jim Roberts will be the keynote speaker, and recruits will take the oath of office and receive their badges. Those graduating are:

Mary M. Altimus, Neal S. Birdwell, Freddie Clinton, Michael W. Dunn, Andrew M. Fletcher, David J. Gardner, Stevie Gillis, Gary M. Jacobs and Theotis W. Jenkins.

Also, Robert Jones Jr., Richard H. McDonald Jr., Toby Morrison, Joshua C. Pettigrew, Harold G. Patterson, Brandi B. Robertson, Floyd F. Smith, Willie L. Smith, John D. Stratton, Anthony J. Sutis and Clarence M. Tosh.

Only Harold Patterson and Willie Smith will not go to work for the

Shreveport Police Department. Patterson will work for the LSUMC University Police and Willie Smith will work for the Centenary College Police.
