Police seek five people in forgery ring

Shreveport Police are looking for five people who cashed forged checks from a Kansas City, Kansas, construction company.

The five people somehow obtained computer-generated forgeries against the account of L.G. Barcus & Son Construction of Kansas City.

All of the checks were cashed at local Thrifty Liquor locations in Shreveport. The people who are suspects in this case and the crimes they are accused of committing are as follows:

    • Glendell Brooks, 28, of Shreveport: Wanted for forgeries that amount to $2,825.24.

    • Crystal Johnson, 20, of Bossier City: Wanted for felony theft in connection with cashing a forged check.

    • Lestineea Brooks, 25, address unknown: Wanted for forging a check in the amount of $657.10.

    • LaDarien J. Washington, 23, of Shreveport: Wanted for forging a check in the amount of $834.10.

    • Broderick K. Theus, 26, of Shreveport: Wanted for check forgeries totaling $1,768.20.

    Anyone with information about these suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 673-7000 or Detective Guy Smith at 673-6985.
