Police arrest two for North Allen Street murder

Two men have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder for the shooting death of 62-year-old Ed McDuffy.

Tyrone Davis, 22, of the 2000 block of North Hearne Avenue and Bruce Caldwell, 32, of the 400 block of Mayfair were arrested early this morning.

McDuffy was found by his girlfriend laying just inside the doorway of his home in the 100 block of North Allen Street early Wednesday. He had been shot in the upper torso. He was taken to LSU Hospital where he later died.

The motive for the homicide appears to be robbery.
