Police arrest two for armed robbery

Two Shreveport men were arrested Sunday shortly after Shane’s Acadiana Crawfish was robbed.

Columbus Lewis, 18, and Jake Lamar Thomkins Lockett Jr., 20, were arrested for armed robbery at an apartment complex behind the business.

The robbery occurred about 6:30 p.m. at the business located in the 9100 block of Mansfield Road. Officers responded to the robbery in progress and, with the assistance of a citizen, captured one of the suspects.

About 40 minutes later, a second suspect fitting the description was seen near the apartment complex and was taken into custody after a brief chase by Officer Manuel Rosado and Lt. Kenneth Jackson.
