Police seize more than $270,000 in drugs, money and cars

Local law enforcement agencies put a big dent in the local availability of methamphetamine with an investigation that culminated with the arrests of three people over the weekend.

Renee McKenzie, 44, of DeSoto Parish, Norbey "Bim" Rayborn, 50, of Shreveport and Bradley Patterson, 41, of Shreveport were charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

During the arrests, agents seized methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and marijuana with a combined street value of $265,355. They also confiscated four vehicles valued at more than $40,000 and seized $62,463 in suspected narcotics proceeds.

"This successful investigation will greatly reduce the availability of methamphetamine, not only in Shreveport but also DeSoto Parish," said Sgt. Mike Tong, a supervisor in Shreveport Police’s Mid-Level Investigations Unit.

Several more felony narcotics arrests are pending as a direct result of the investigation that spanned two parishes.

Those participating in the investigation were the Shreveport Police Mid-Level Investigations Unit, the Shreveport Police Street-Level Interdiction Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
