Police investigate two armed robberies

Police are looking into two armed robberies that occurred today, one of a business and another of an individual.

The first robbery was reported about 10:55 a.m. in the parking lot of Lowe’s home improvement store at 2710 Alkay. A 51-year-old Shreveport man said he went to his car to get money from his vehicle when two black males approached him.

One of the men showed the victim a gun and demanded money. The victim gave the suspects the money and they took off on foot toward Mansfield Road. The first suspect was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. He was about 5'7" and 160 pounds with no facial hair and a dark complexion. The second suspect was wearing a sky blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. He was about 5'9", 180 pounds with no facial hair and a dark complexion.

The second robbery occurred about 11:17 a.m. at the Top Hair Plus beauty salon at 2606 Waggoner. A black male entered the store, took clothing to the counter and then showed an employee a gun and demanded money. He then took the money and clothes and fled the store, headed southwest through a lot on Hearne Avenue. The suspect is described as 5'8", 145 pounds with dark skin, blue jean jacket, camo pants and a low, clean hair cut.
