Two officers involved in separate minor wrecks

Two officers were injured in separate auto accidents this afternoon, and neither was seriously injured.

Officer Kelly Morman was in route to assist officers involved in a foot pursuit in District 3 when her car collided with a beige 1999 Chevy Cavalier at Travis and Douglas. The Cavalier was driven by Arthur Lee King Jr., age and address unknown at this time.

King was taken to Schumpert Medical Center on Line Avenue with possible injuries. Morman was not transported for injuries, although she did go to Willis-Knighton for a routine drug test, which is standard in officer-involved accidents.

Meanwhile, police responded to another minor accident at Snow and Murphy Streets.

Officer Carolyn Harris reportedly rear-ended a red Dodge Ram driven by Larry Davis, 48, of Benton. Both cars received minor to moderate damage and no one was injured.
