Upset boyfriend charged with second-degree battery

A man who entered his ex-girlfriend’s apartment at 240 W. 79th Street on Tuesday and stabbed her in the arm with a steak knife was arrested Thursday.

Ernest Thomas, 30, of Shreveport is in Shreveport City Jail on a charge of second-degree battery and unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling.

After the incident, Thomas fled the scene on foot. His ex-girlfriend, Debra Williams, was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center.
