Missing baby found

A five-month-old boy who was missing for 20 hours was returned safely to his mother today.

The baby’s cousin, 15-year-old LaTangle Levy, walked away from her home with the baby about 1 p.m. Wednesday. The teen wasn’t heard from until about 9 a.m. today when she rode the bus home from a friend’s house.

Levy said she took the child with her to get a soda but then caught a city bus and rode to a friend’s house. She missed the last bus and said she didn’t have access to a phone to call home.

No kidnaping charges will be filed against Levy, although she was taken into juvenile custody for evaluation. The baby’s family is very relieved.
