Police recover stolen goods

Detectives recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen items at a home in the 6100 block of Tulsa in Cedar Grove this morning.

A variety of things were recovered, from a gold-plated Cadillac automobile grill to a $1,500 mountain bike.

Police took the items from a house that was inhabited by 37-year-old Eric Abercrombe. Abercrombe was arrested Wednesday night by Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office on narcotics charges. At that time, deputies noticed several items in the residence that appeared to be stolen.

Shreveport police detectives were called to the scene and seized a variety of items, ranging from audio and video equipment to lawn and construction tools.

Detectives are now looking at the items to see if they can get them back to the owners. They also are trying to determine how many counts of illegal possession of stolen things Abercrombe may face.

A claims day will be scheduled in the near future for burglary victims to see if any of the seized items belongs to them. Residents must have serial numbers for their stolen items to be able to claim them.
