Police investigate shooting

A 29-year-old woman was shot by her boyfriend about 1:25 a.m. today after she entered his apartment with a key.

The boyfriend, 23-year-old Marlon Horton, was sleeping in his apartment at 8501 Millicent Way when Tamika Johnson entered the residence. Horton thought Johnson was a burglar, and Johnson had not told her boyfriend she would be stopping by.

When Horton saw a silhouette in the bedroom door, he fired three shots, striking Johnson in the abdomen. The woman was taken to LSU Health Sciences Center by ambulance.

Horton has not been charged with any crime.
