Violent Crimes Unit makes robbery arrest

Shreveport Police Department’s new Violent Crimes Unit arrested one man last night on charges of criminal conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

The suspect, 17-year-old Tremendous Davis of Shreveport, was arrested near the Circle K at Curtis Lane and Greenwood Road after officers Thomas Henry and Shannon Worley saw he and another man lingering near the store.

The two men were wearing masks and fled after one of them showed the officers a rifle.

While one suspect is still at large, police found Davis hiding in a house that was under construction.

Police are investigating the case and trying to locate the second suspect.

The Violent Crimes Unit is a group of four officers and a sergeant who patrol the entire city. The temporary unit addresses problem crimes and is currently focusing on the surge of business robberies in the city.
