Police arrest two men after staged robbery

Shreveport police have arrested a Mr. Ghatti’s employee and another man for staging a robbery Monday afternoon.

Lamar Caston, 22, of Shreveport told tellers at AmSouth Bank at Millicent Way and Youree Drive that someone had rammed his vehicle and then approached him with a gun. They then robbed him of money from the store that he was about to deposit, he reported.

Upon investigation, detective Paul Robinson learned that the incident had been staged by Caston and two others named Shamichael Bright, 18, and and Steven Doyle, 20.

Caston and Bright have been arrested, and police are looking for Doyle. All are from Shreveport and will be charged with felony theft.

This is the second case involving suspects who have falsely reported an armed robbery. On Dec. 1, police arrested housekeeper Tiwana Walker after she reported to police that someone pointed a gun at her after she opened the door of a home she was cleaning on Thora Street. She reported that a robber took video games and money, but police found the stolen items in her vehicle.
