The incident happened at 2070 Linear when two black males reportedly were let into a home by one of the occupants. Once inside, the two black males pulled handguns, and one of them shot and killed 22-year-old Dewayne Tyner. A struggle ensued between the suspects and occupants of the house, and one of the suspects, 18-year-old Leon Harris, was shot in the abdomen. He later died at LSU Health Sciences Center. During the struggle, another occupant in the house, 23-year-old Roderick Miller, was shot in the left elbow. He was treated at LSUHSC for the non life-threatening injury. The second suspect fled the scene, and detectives are looking for him. Three guns were recovered at the house. Police do not yet know the motive surrounding the shooting.
