When officers arrived at the scene, 41-year-old Michael Jackson of 6818 Oak Branch Circle began firing at officers. A police K-9 was released on the individual, and officers were forced to return fire after Jackson continued to fire. About the same time officers were arriving on the scene, another call came into 911 headquarters about a man shot on Evers Drive -- just around the corner from where police found Jackson. That man, identified as 36-year-old Gregory Moore of 6817 Oak Branch Circle, was found deceased near the street in a yard in the 4200 block of Evers. Officers involved in the shooting were: * T.L. Morgan, 31. He has been with the department since May 6, 1991. * Timothy Stephens, 29. He has been with the department since Dec. 7, 1998.
