Police arrest identity stealer

Shreveport police have arrested a 27-year-old Shreveport woman on charges of identity theft, forgery and illegal possession of stolen things.

Annette Burch of the 1600 block of Woodrow is accused of approximately 20 cases of financial crime committed in Shreveport.

Police have recovered numerous items from Burch's home, including checks, credit cards, mail and identification that did not belong to her. It is believed Burch used these items to commit forgery and unlawfully obtain merchandise and other items.

Besides the local charges, Burch could be charged by federal authorities in connection with her possessing stolen mail.
