Burglary suspects arrested

Detectives Ben Daily and Kevin Goodwin have arrested three people and recovered stolen equipment in connection with the Nov. 15 break in of Huntington High School.

About 15 classrooms were broken into, resulting in the loss of about $20,000 worth of computers, VCRs and electronic equipment.

About half of the equipment was recovered by detectives, who also arrested:

    * Charles King Jr., 18, of the 5400 block of Financial Plaza in Shreveport. He is charged with two counts of simple burglary.

    * Kamon Boone, 19, 2500 block of Ridgelake in Shreveport. He is charged with one count simple burglary.

    * Curtis Barrett Jr., 20, of the 6200 block of Buncombe Road. He is charged with one count of simple burglary.

Simple burglary is a felony, punishable by one to 12 years in prison, with or without hard labor.

Roy Murray of Caddo Parish School security was on hand for this afternoon's announcement. He thanked the Shreveport Police Department for recovering the items and said efforts will be made to prevent burglaries like the one on Nov. 15 from occurring again.
