The Shreveport Police Department will host a community meeting on Nov. 1 for residents who live in Area Two.
The community meetings are being held in each of Shreveport's four police areas this year. Area Two comprises most of the east and southeast side of the city, including Broadmoor, Shreve Island, Caddo Heights, Eden Gardens, Highland, South Highlands, Spring Lake, Stoner Hill, Wilkinson Terrace and University Terrace.
Police Chief Jim Roberts, Area Two Commander D.H. Huddleston and other police officials will be on hand to listen to residents' concerns and answer questions they might have.
Information gained at these meetings will assist police in planning ways to prevent and fight crime in the city.
Those helping with the meeting include Operations Weed and Seed Area Two, the SPD Neighborhood Assistance Team, SPD Volunteers in Policing, Broadmoor Middle Lab PTA and school, Girl Scouts of America, Broadmoor Neighborhood Association, Highland Area Partnership, the Extra Mile and Think First.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Broadmoor Middle Lab School, 441 Atlantic Avenue. For more information, call 673-7390.
